When an off-the-shelf unit won't fit the space, Steve draws up a plan and builds it. Under-stairs cupboards are a good example.

Bespoke joinery
When the ready-made option won't do, Steve builds it.
Pat wanted proper storage under the stairs. The prefabricated units couldn't be adapted to the design, so Steve drew up a plan and made them himself.

“Under stairs cupboards / storage Steve’s initial response to my request was the offer of a phone number of a company who prefabricated these units but unfortunately the company weren't able to adapt their design to what I was wanting so Steve said he would draw up a plan and do the job. He completed the initial knock down, clear out and the building of the 3 cupboards within 2 days. Yes he needed to return with a different wood specification for the fronts and more substantial brackets but again did this with a continued keenness to complete the job to a very high standard.
